OBT ProFlex Mount Instructions

OBT ProFlex Mount Installation Instructions

Tools Provided:

  • Alcohol pad (included)
  • Adhesive Primer prep pad (included)
  • Zip ties (included with 4.5-inch mounts)

Additional Tools Needed:

  • Clean cloth
  • Measuring tape or ruler (optional, for precise placement)

Safety Precautions:

  • Adhesive Primer Handling: Use in a well-ventilated area. Avoid direct contact with skin and eyes. If contact occurs, rinse immediately with plenty of water. Keep out of reach of children. Dispose of the pad properly after use.

Step 1: Choose Your Mounting Location

Identify the ideal location for your OBT ProFlex Mount. Ensure the area is smooth, clean, and suitable for adhesion, such as metal, plastic, or glass surfaces.

Step 2: Clean the Surface

Use the provided alcohol pad to thoroughly clean the mounting surface, removing any dirt, grease, or debris. Allow the surface to dry completely before proceeding.

Step 3: Apply Adhesive Primer

Once the surface is dry, use the included Adhesive Primer prep pad to apply a thin, even coat to the cleaned area. Allow the primer to dry for 5 minutes before continuing.

Step 4: Remove the Backing from the Adhesive

Carefully peel off the backing from the 3M VHB tape on the base of the ProFlex Mount. Important: Before removing the backing, double-check that your chosen placement is correct, as this step cannot be undone without new adhesive.

Step 5: Position and Apply the Mount

Align the ProFlex Mount at your chosen location. For curved surfaces, apply pressure starting from the center and work outward to prevent air bubbles. Press down firmly on the entire surface, applying even pressure for at least 30 seconds. Holding the mount in place during this time is crucial for achieving a strong bond.

Step 6: Allow 24 Hours for Adhesion

After mounting, do not use or put stress on the ProFlex Mount for 24 hours. This curing period is essential to ensure a secure and durable attachment.

Step 7: For 4.5-Inch Mounts: Securing on Angled Surfaces

If you’re attaching the mount to a more angled surface, such as a tube or pole no larger than 2.5 inches in diameter, use the included zip ties to secure it. Wrap the zip ties around the mount and the surface, ensuring they are snug but not excessively tight. Leave the zip ties in place for 24 hours to assist with the curing process.

Step 8: Attach Your Camera

After the 24-hour curing period, slide your action camera (GoPro, Insta360, DJI Osmo, etc.) into the mount. The flexible design ensures a secure hold even on curved surfaces.

Step 9: Test the Mount

Gently tug on the mount and camera to confirm they are securely attached. The ProFlex Mount should feel firm and stable.

Step 10: Ready for Adventure!

With your camera securely mounted, you’re ready to capture your adventures. Whether off-roading, biking, or on the water, your camera will stay in place.

Maintenance Tips:

  • Periodically inspect the mount to ensure it remains secure, especially after extreme conditions or heavy use.
  • Clean the mount with a soft cloth if dirt or debris accumulates.
